How does the process work?

Take the next step

We’re really glad that you are interested in using an Academic Mentor in your school to help support pupils to reach their full potential. Read on to discover how the process works.

The 5 steps to hiring an Academic Mentor in your school

Step 1:
Register your interest
Step 2:
Application form
Step 3:
Matching & compliance
Step 4:
Interview
Step 5:
Placement

Step 1:

Register your interest in the National Tutoring Programme - Academic Mentors on our website by filling out our quick and easy form. You'll be asked to supply some basic information about your school, including the subject(s) that you require Academic Mentor support with.

Step 2:

Once we have received your registration of interest, a member of our school engagement team will be in touch to learn more about the requirements of your school. We'll ask you some questions to learn more about the needs of your school and we'll complete an application form for each Academic Mentor you have requested.

Step 3:

We will search our talent pool for a suitable Academic Mentor who matches your location, school requirements and any other preferences. Please note that while we will always try to match you to an Academic Mentor as quickly as possible, there may be a short wait depending on the availability of candidates in your area.

Step 4:

Once we have identified a suitable candidate, we will supply you with a brief overview of their experience and introduce you so that you can conduct an interview in line with your school's individual HR policy. This is your chance to get to know your potential Academic Mentor and their experience, qualifications and career goals.

Step 5:

After a successful interview and the completion of any additional steps, such as a DBS or right to work check, you can extend an offer of employment to your Academic Mentor. Congratulations! Your new Academic Mentor is now ready to start work and help support your pupils in achieving their academic goals.
